The Eighth-Note Revolution

Like Rock’n’Roll was the back-beat and Disco was four-on-the-floor, the Eighties were the Eighth-note revolution. Every song was required to feature staccato eighth note rhythms.
A great example would be The Cars, “Just What I Needed.” A song that pretty much defines the eighties. Then there’s the genius of Joe Jackson, Gary Numan, Talking Heads, Psychedelic Furs, the list goes on. Great music. So nostalgic of a great age that was longing to re-experience the thrill of rock’n’roll only with new drugs and a different look. Come back, close your eyes , and let’s re-live the days or wonder.
