One of my many American Dreams has always involved endless sleep. Or at least the end of demands that require getting out of bed. Capitalism paints a beautiful picture of hiring people to make you money, and then your money making you money. To the point where all you have to do is point and click and have it all delivered to your bedside. Servants to bring the food. Underlings to give massages. Hanger-On-ers to clip toenails. The complete life of leisure. The kingly or queenly lifestyle. Of course this is the same pampered life that seems to kill a lot of the uninitiated, like new celebrities or lotto winners. The Effortless life seems to hold immense appeal among the working class. Maybe we all just need some really satisfying work.
Does Success Mean Never Having To Get Out Of Bed ?
