Was Kanye West a Victim of Medical Targeting?

Kanye West, now Ye, has long been a polarizing figure, with his outspoken views and erratic behavior fueling speculation about his mental health and potential targeting. The concept of “medical targeting”—where individuals claim they’re subjected to unauthorized medical interventions or institutionalization as a form of control—has surfaced in discussions about West, particularly in recent years.

Some fans and online communities, including posts on X, suggest West may have been a victim of such practices, pointing to his 2016 hospitalization and subsequent events as evidence of manipulation by powerful entities.

In November 2016, West was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center after a reported psychiatric emergency, described as a “temporary psychosis” due to sleep deprivation and dehydration. He was placed on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold, a decision made by his physician following erratic behavior, including an alleged altercation. West later claimed in a 2022 interview with Candace Owens that his “doctor” and “trainer” conspired to hospitalize him, a narrative that aligns with some Targeted Individuals’ (TIs) allegations of orchestrated medical abuse. He’s also stated he was “misdiagnosed” with bipolar disorder and nearly “drugged out of his mind” to make him a “manageable” celebrity.

Skeptics argue these claims lack substantiation, pointing to West’s history of controversial statements and documented mental health struggles as more plausible explanations. Mainstream reports, like those from Billboard and TMZ, frame his hospitalizations as responses to genuine health crises, not conspiracies. Without concrete evidence, the medical targeting theory remains speculative, fueled by distrust in institutions and West’s own assertions. The debate persists, reflecting broader tensions between personal narratives and official accounts.
