What if free will is just a myth. According to psychologist B.F. Skinner people have no choice in what they do. It’s all pre-programed from previous choices we were rewarded or punished for. So you, as a fully functioning adult are basically just going through the motions. Nothing really original can originate from you. Like a Lab-Rat you will do the predictable things that have brought predictable rewards and avoid the painful stuff.
This of course runs completely counter to the Western/Christian idea of Free Will. If Skinner was right there would be no responsibility for actions at all. Then again if one was to take just one rendon and unplanned step in a new direction he may thwart his destiny altogether.
